Infrared rays IR-C (2)

Infrared rays should not be confused with ultraviolet light or any other form of dangerous emission (alpha, beta, gamma rays, x-rays and others).

Infrared rays spectrum

We feel and use infrared rays every day. The heat that comes from the Sun, the fire, the hot asphalt road – all of this is infrared heat. In practice, all subjects with temperature above the absolute 0 emit infrared rays.

Infrared rays (IR) – also known as heat waves, are part of the optical rays, and thus – part of the electromagnetic spectrum. Their wavelength is in the range from 780nm (nanometres) to 1 mm (millimetres), i.e. in the part where ‘the wavelength increases’, far from the dangerous ultraviolet rays. There are three main lengths of infrared rays: IR-A rays with wavelength 780-1400 nanometres, IR-B rays (1400 to 3000 nm) and far infrared rays IR-C (3000 nm до 1 mm).

The infrared panels InfraHEAT emit far infrared rays in the spectrum IR-C – consequently, they are harmless to humans. On the graphic below, you can see the wavelength of the rays emitted by an InfraHEAT panel which has been heated to 120оС.
